Children's Visual Arts Part-Time Program Instructor Six Pixels Film & STEM Academy Houston, TX Job Details Part-time $15 - $20 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications Experience teaching visual & performing arts Event breakdown Character design Creative development (child development components) Teaching theater Visual storytelling Storytelling activities for children CAD design (engineering design task) Brand awareness Working with students Customer engagement Video storytelling Filmmaking equipment Youth group activity facilitation Set design Teaching filmmaking Experience working with elementary school students Training Robotics Storytelling (creative arts teaching) Outreach events (outreach initiatives) Working with youth Entry level Teaching robotics Full Job Description Six Pixels Film & STEM Academy (www.sixpixelsfilmacademy.com) is a creative youth education program offering fun, engaging, hands-on classes and special events in moviemaking, stop motion, art and animation, video production and editing, movie acting, puppetry, set and prop design, cosplay and character development, and STEAM fundamentals such as robotics, circuitry, CAD design, and 3-D printing, all wrapped around a unique STEAM-enriched, story-centric curriculum. We help children explore STEAM in a safe, collaborative, active, and social environment, promoting teamwork, confidence, problem-solving skills, and creative thinking. Offering after-school programs, homeschool classes, summer camps, workshops, events, field trips, Kids' Night Out, birthday parties, and more, Six Pixels offers a structured curriculum that builds a multitude of real-world career skills through carefully designed challenges that encourage students to create stories, develop technical and artistic skills, spark the imagination, and have some fun with science along the way. We are currently hiring a part-time instructor (10-15 hours per week) for youth stop motion and animation after-school programs, filmmaking workshops, and special events. Will train on the curriculum, previous teaching experience preferred; video editing experience a plus.
