Job Description

Utah Valley University (UVU) is seeking 8 friendly and creative Face Painters to represent e2i at the Utah County Fair. As a Face Painter, you will use a pre-established menu of designs and stencils to create fun, memorable experiences for fair attendees, primarily children. No prior face painting experience is required, but a positive attitude and basic artistic ability are a must. Team members will be paid $15 per hour.
Important Availability Requirement:
Applicants must be available July 29th through August 1st, 2026.
Please note:
This is an event-specific role. Employment is limited to the dates listed above. However, based on performance, team members may be eligible to work on future e2i projects. About e2i: Education 2 Impact (e2i) offers students the opportunity to work within interdisciplinary teams while gaining paid, hands-on experience. Projects are provided by companies or entrepreneurial UVU students, and teams are assembled to work under the guidance of a student project manager to complete these projects—mirroring real-world industry practices. This is an excellent opportunity for students currently studying Art & Design, Illustration, Theatre Arts, or a related field to gain valuable professional experience working in a multi-disciplinary team. Paint the faces of fair attendees (primarily children) using a pre-established menu of designs and stencils, maintaining consistency and quality across all designs. Maintain a welcoming, patient, and engaging demeanor with children and their accompanying adults throughout the event. Manage your own queue of guests in an organized and fair manner to minimize wait times. Follow proper sanitation and hygiene protocols—including cleaning brushes and replacing sponges—between each guest. Communicate promptly with event coordinators if supplies are running low or any issues arise. Must be a current student at Utah Valley University, preferably studying Art & Design, Illustration, Theatre Arts, or a related field. Some basic artistic ability or experience with crafts, drawing, or similar creative work. Prior face painting experience is a plus, but not required. Comfort working directly with young children and their families in a public setting. Preferred Major(s): Art & Design, Illustration, Theatre Arts, or a related field (degree-seeking student preferred) Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor fair environment. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Availability on required event dates is non-negotiable.
