Job Description
TheaterX is looking for a skilled and motivated AV Installer to join our team. The AV Installer will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and servicing high-end residential audio/video and home automation systems. Crestron is the primary home automation and control system we install , so experience with Crestron is highly preferred. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with technology, wiring, tools, and customers. Responsibilities Install and configure high-end residential audio/video systems. Install TVs, soundbars, speakers, subwoofers, projectors, projection screens, and home theater systems. Install and terminate low-voltage wiring, including speaker wire, Cat6, HDMI, and control wiring. Perform prewiring and trim-out installations. Mount TVs, speakers, equipment racks, and other AV equipment. Install and configure Crestron control systems . Assist with Crestron-based home automation installations. Set up and configure audio, video, networking, and control equipment. Test systems to ensure proper operation and performance. Troubleshoot audio, video, wiring, networking, and equipment issues. Read and follow installation plans, wiring diagrams, and project specifications. Maintain a clean and organized job site. Communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, designers, and other trades. Complete installations according to company standards, project schedules, and manufacturer specifications. Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory. Document completed work and communicate any issues or changes to the project manager. Qualifications Previous AV, low-voltage, electrical, construction, or home automation experience preferred. Crestron experience is highly preferred. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Basic understanding of audio, video, networking, and low-voltage wiring. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and problem-solve independently. Strong attention to detail. Professional communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift and move AV equipment and work on ladders. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry AV equipment weighing up to approximately 75 lbs. Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights. Ability to kneel, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces when necessary. Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
