This dual-role position is critical to supporting our front-of-house efficiency, guest satisfaction, and the immersive atmosphere of our restaurant and lounge. You will serve as the go-to expert for everything from POS troubleshooting and system updates to managing live music setups, ensuring crisp sound, and coordinating visual media displays. If you're comfortable working behind the scenes to ensure technology enhances both operations and ambiance—this role is for you. Key Responsibilities 1. POS System Oversight & Support Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Toast POS terminals, tablets, printers, card readers, and related peripherals. Rapidly respond to POS issues, especially during service hours, to minimize operational disruptions. Perform updates, configure menus, manage pricing, user access, and system settings. Serve as the primary liaison with POS vendors and coordinate scheduled maintenance or downtime. Train staff on basic POS functionality and self-service troubleshooting techniques. 2. Audio-Visual System Management Manage AV equipment including speakers, amplifiers, mixers, microphones, projectors, TVs, and digital signage. Ensure audio clarity and visual quality during events, live performances, DJ sets, or sports broadcasts. Set up and break down AV systems for private parties, presentations, and live events. Troubleshoot and maintain connectivity between devices (Bluetooth, HDMI, streaming devices, etc.). Train staff on basic AV functions (volume control, input switching, music systems). 3. Network & Infrastructure Support Address network issues affecting POS or AV systems. Maintain and configure routers, switches, access points, and cabling. Conduct regular checks to ensure network reliability across all guest and operational systems. 4. Preventative Maintenance & Inventory Conduct routine maintenance of all POS and AV equipment. Maintain inventory of spare POS hardware, AV accessories (e.g., cables, remotes, adapters), and consumables (e.g., printer paper). Keep equipment clean, organized, and performance-ready at all times. 5. Documentation, Training & Optimization Create and maintain documentation for system processes, troubleshooting, and standard event setups. Stay up to date on Toast and AV technology updates; recommend improvements to workflows and systems. Work closely with operations, marketing, and events teams to align tech needs with business goals. 6. On-Call & Event Support Provide on-call support for technical issues outside of normal business hours. Be present during high-profile events or entertainment nights to ensure AV and POS systems run smoothly. Qualifications Experience 2+ years in IT support, AV tech, or technical operations—ideally in hospitality, nightlife, or entertainment venues. Hands-on experience with POS systems (Toast preferred) and AV system setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Technical Skills Comfortable with networking, AV signal flow, sound systems, and media streaming. Proficient with Windows and Android devices, printers, routers, and basic IT tools. Experience operating or assisting with DJ, live music, or private event tech setups is a strong plus. Soft Skills Strong communicator with the ability to simplify tech talk for non-technical staff. Calm under pressure, highly organized, and solutions-oriented. Self-motivated, reliable, and responsive to urgent needs. Education & Certifications Coursework or degree in IT, Audio Engineering, or a related field is a plus. Certifications in IT support, networking, or AV installation are welcome but not required.
