Audio-Visual Technician (Part Time)

Overview:

The United Methodist Church of Palm Springs (UMCPS) seeks a reliable, skilled AV Technician to manage sound, live-streaming, and presentation systems for worship services and events. This role ensures high-quality audio for both in-person and online audiences while supporting the Pastor, Music Director, additional musicians, and singers.

Schedule:

Sundays 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM (mandatory); On-Call Fridays, Saturdays, Sunday (usually afternoons); Required for rehearsals and holidays leading up to and including Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve, and other special services throuout the year.

Key Duties:

1. Operate digital sound board and mix live audio (vocals, choir, instruments) 2. Manage live-stream audio and recording quality 3. Run presentation slides (lyrics, scripture, announcements) 4. Coordinate cues with worship team and musicians 5. Set up, test, and break down AV equipment 6. Troubleshoot issues during live services 7. Support special events, including outdoor services

Qualifications:

• Experience with live sound mixing and digital consoles
• Familiarity with live-streaming and presentation software
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Team-oriented, dependable, and punctual

Preferred Background:

• Church or live performance audio experience
• Experience with choirs and multiple vocalists

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and assist with AV setup

Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
