Job Description

This part-time position, approximately 12 hours per week, shall serve by assisting in appropriately operating Bethany's sound and video systems to ensure excellent sound and visuals in all scheduled events such as worship services, concerts, funerals, and weddings. This position is not eligible to participate in Bethany's benefits package. The work schedule is flexible based on the needs of the Lead Pastor and the Worship Planning team. Schedule will include Sunday mornings as well as major church holidays. 1)
Scope and Responsibility:
Recruits and trains all Audio-Visual Technicians as well as keeping an updated operating procedures and training resources for technicians and staff
  • Coordinate and operate audio, video, presentation, livestream, and lighting systems for worship services and ministry events Schedule A/V Techs for all internal events and services; Coordinate setting up audio/visual equipment needed for scheduled events as well as performing proper tests prior to event Manage presentation software and ensure it is production ready prior to Sunday morning worship or appropriate event Monitor sound and visual quality throughout the event to ensure excellent production values; identify problems as they arise and assist in their resolution; Record, edit, archive, and distribute media as needed Ensure systems are properly shut down, secured, and stored following the event in storing all equipment as appropriate; ensuring that all systems Ensure all livestreams are properly scheduled prior to event Assist in implementing equipment upgrades and installations, as needed.

Reporting and Accountability:
The Lead Audio-Video Technician reports to Systems Analyst who in turn reports to the Lead Pastor. 3)
Collaboration and Authority:
The Lead Audio-Video Technician is expected to closely collaborate with the Pastoral Team and office staff, particularly in order to execute the technical aspects of worship and educational audio visual needs. The Lead Audio-Video Technician will also work closely with the Facilities Team as well as the Worship team of the Ministry Council. 4)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Experience in managing computer and audio-visual systems Ability to effectively supervise performance while maintaining a positive team environment Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Able to successfully complete the Safe Gatherings program and associated background checks prior to starting employment at
Bethany Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with church worship production environments
  • Experience with ProPresenter or similar presentation software
  • Experience with livestreaming platforms and digital audio systems
  • Experience with SaaS software
  • Familiarity with lighting systems and video production workflows
  • Basic recording and video editing experience
