Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Smart Home Integration Specialist with strong expertise in Control4 (Composer Pro), Lutron systems, and IP network deployment. This is not an entry-level audio/video or TV-mounting role. You will be responsible for deployment, programming, network architecture, and troubleshooting complex residential control systems from pre-wire to final commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Control Systems:
Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Control4 operating systems using Composer Pro.
Lighting & Shading Control:
Install, program, and integrate Lutron systems (RadioRA 3, HomeWorks QSX).
Network Infrastructure:
Build, segment, and manage IP network backbones, including VLAN creation, subnetting, managed network switches (Araknis, Ubiquiti, Pakedge), and Wi-Fi access point deployment.
Rack Building & Cable Management:
Dress, wire, label, and terminate AV racks and structured media enclosures to commercial-grade standards (RJ45, coaxial, fiber, speaker).
System Diagnostics:
Perform on-site network diagnostics, IP tracking, and hardware troubleshooting to resolve signal loss or system dropouts.
Client Hand-Off:
Conduct final walk-throughs with homeowners, demonstrating system operation and providing basic UI navigation training.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience working in custom residential integration. Control4: Proven hands-on experience using Control4 Composer Pro. (Control4 Certified Technician [C4CT] preferred).
Lutron:
Practical experience configuring Lutron RadioRA 3, HomeWorks platforms.
Networking:
Solid understanding of
TCP/IP, DHCP
reservations, VLAN management, and switch configurations.
Low Voltage Mechanics:
Proficient with tone-and-probe testing, crimping, soldering, and wire management.
General Requirements:
Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record, physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, and comfortably work on ladders or in confined attic/crawl spaces. Preferred (Bonus)
Qualifications:
PCNA (Snap One / Control4 Networking), Network+, or CCNA certifications. Experience with video distribution systems (binary, Just Add Power, Crestron NVX). Experience installing motorization shading systems (Lutron Sivoia QS / Palladiom).
Pay:
$38.00 - $55.00 per hour
