Job Summary:
  • Work independently and in a timely manner for completion of assigned installation and service jobs.
  • Work and mentor junior technicians on assigned jobs.
  • Responsible for timely completion of daily procedures and paperwork as assigned.
  • Responsible for assigned vehicle care and maintenance.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills with customers and coworkers.
  • Self-motivated, task driven, and able to apply "best practices" theory
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use hand and power tools (Drills, basic hand tools are required for this position, specialized tools will be provided when needed)
  • Ability to lift objects sometimes exceeding 40 pounds (i.
e. Televisions, audio equipment, racks)
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting of simple and advanced AV systems, both existing from other vendors with no documentation and live systems that have been installed by Habitech.
  • Installation and configuration of networking and WiFi system with integration with the ISP. Manufacturers may include Araknis, Ubuiquiti, Access Networks, EERO, etc.
  • Programming of automation and control systems. Our primary control systems are Control4 with OvrC, URC and Elan.
  • Installation of Lutron lighting systems (RA, HomeWorks), and Control 4 lighting. These systems can include Panelized modular lighting as well as wireless systems.
  • Sonos, Heos, Full MOIP Systems are among our offerings for distributed audio/video.
  • Installation and programming of Camera Video recorders and IP cameras.
  • Understanding and knowledge of security system programming and design is a plus.
  • Complete multi-room audio/video installs with setup and programming
  • Test the functionality of all finished systems
  • Provide customer with training of use and operation of all systems
  • Charge customers and collect payment at time of service for time and materials
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, scopes of work and other associated paperwork for jobs.
  • Highly detailed, organized, and multitask driven
  • Independent and out of the box thinking and problem solving
  • Competent skills with desktop and mobile computing
  • Clean driving record and background check
  • Minimum 1-2 years of residential pre-wire and trim work.
  • Comfortable with attic work in required instances.
  • Proficiency with terminations of Cat Cables, connectors and RG6.
  • Termination experience with Fiber is a plus for this position.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of audio-video installation experience from equipment to full system programming.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and able to adhere to project deadlines
  • CEDIA or BICSI certifications for structured wiring would be a plus for this position.
  • Certification of Control 4 CI, URC Level 2, Lutron certifications would be highly desirable.
