Student Media (Traveling) Amitrace Atlanta, GA Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $102,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Qualifications School experience Business travel arrangements Live event AV production projects Driver's License Working with students Classroom experience Teaching Full Job Description Summary Run VidPOD's booth at 20 to 30 K-12 education conferences a year. You'll demo a live four-camera studio on the show floor, get CTE directors and teachers into the guest chair, and book the follow-up meetings that come out of those conversations. Based in Norcross, GA, on the road about a third of the year. VidPOD is a complete video podcast studio built into a table on wheels, designed and built by Amitrace here in Norcross. Four HD cameras, four professional microphones, headsets with individual volume control, and a video switcher with graphics templates, all pre-wired before it ships. A school rolls it into whatever room is open and plugs it into a standard outlet. Setup runs under 30 minutes. See it at www.amitrace.com/podcast We're looking for someone who taught, coached, or worked in a school, ideally in a CTAE pathway, and who has run production equipment in front of students. The job You represent VidPOD at ACTE VISION, ISTE, FETC, TCEA, and the state CTE and school administrator conferences. The work centers on demonstrating the product, because the easiest way to explain a video podcast with no post-production is to make one. A CTE director or AV teacher sits in the guest chair, gets miked, watches themselves cut between four angles, and has the clip in their inbox before they've left the booth. That's when you tell them what else comes with it: 9 weeks of curriculum, thousands of story ideas, training, and two years of support. Everything a program needs to start. The conversation after a demo is a different conversation, and it's why we run a live studio on the floor instead of a table with brochures. Your job is to make that happen as often as the day allows, then turn it into something real. We'll measure you on two things: demos recorded at the booth, and qualified meetings that get booked and then actually happen. You're not responsible for closing. You identify which schools are worth pursuing, book the follow-up, confirm it happens, and write up enough about the account that whoever takes the call has something to work with. Who we're looking for Time in a classroom or a school building is the strongest qualification for this role. If you've taught, coached, or worked in a district, you have the part we can't train. You know what a pathway is, and what it takes to keep one enrolled. You can tell a program that's actually running from one that just bought equipment. CTE directors pick up on that in about thirty seconds. We can teach product knowledge in a week; the other thing we can't teach at all. We'd also like to hear from you if you've worked education conferences from the vendor side, sold into districts, or run a school media program in any capacity. What you'd do Represent VidPOD at 20 to 30 conferences a year, national and state Produce live demos throughout each show day and get attendees into the guest chair Qualify the conversations that follow: does the school have a pathway, a budget, and someone inside who wants it Book follow-up meetings and confirm they take place Document each account so the sales team walks in prepared Manage the conference program end to end, including calendar, registration, freight, booth build and teardown, badge lists, and pre-show outreach to attendees Work from Norcross between conferences on lead follow-up, outbound prospecting into states where we hold purchasing contracts, and preparation for the next show Keep the booth presenting consistently from one show to the next What matters most Two or more years in a school. Teaching, coaching, or a district role. CTAE is what we care about, and if it was the AVTF, broadcast, journalism, or media pathway, that's about as close to a direct match as this job gets. Hands-on time with production equipment. Cameras, microphones, audio levels, a switcher, lighting. School-level is the right level. If you kept a morning-announcements setup running with a room full of fifteen-year-olds, that's the experience we're after. Live switching or multi-camera work is a plus, as is advising a CTSO like SkillsUSA broadcast news production or Student Television Network. We're not looking for a broadcast engineer, and VidPOD is built specifically so nobody has to be one. A working understanding of how CTE operates. Pathways and course sequences, what makes a completer, why the End-of-Pathway Assessment matters, how a program gets funded through Perkins or local CTAE dollars, what a CTAE director is measured on. That vocabulary is most of what you'll be speaking at our booth, and it's the part of this job that can't be picked up from a product sheet. Also needed Able to spend a full show day talking to people you've never met, several days running Able to run a national show calendar on your own: freight deadlines, registration cutoffs, travel booking, follow-up that doesn't slip Willing to handle booth build and teardown at most shows Valid driver's license and clean driving record If you don't have the classroom background but you've sold into districts or worked education conferences from the vendor side, apply and tell us what you'd bring instead. Compensation and logistics Base salary is $65,000 to $80,000 depending on experience. Commission is paid on demos recorded, qualified meetings held, quote requests that trace back to a show you worked, and units that close from those accounts, bringing on-target earnings to approximately $92,000 to $102,000. Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) with company match. Paid time off and holidays. Travel is 20 to 30 trips a year, typically 2 to 4 days with 1 to 3 nights away. Flights, lodging, and per diem are covered. When you're not traveling, you work from our Norcross office. To apply Send your resume along with a short note about the CTE or student media program you know best, and why you think most of them stall out. A few sentences is enough. If you have video of yourself on camera or presenting, include it. It doesn't need to be recent or polished.
