Competitive hourly rate (minimum $75/hr), based on previous experience. W-2. The First Parish in Lincoln (FPL) is a multi-generational, progressive church located 20 minutes west of Cambridge. FPL seeks an AV Consultant to offer reliable, time-sensitive expert technical support for our audio and video offerings (livestreamed Sunday services and other events, including concerts). FPL already employs an AV coordinator who runs our Sunday morning livestream and other church events. The AV Consultant position, by contrast, would work with ministerial staff and our volunteer AV Committee to offer expert technical advice, repairs, and enhancements. The AV Consultant would be responsible for ensuring that we are offering the very best audio-visual experience possible, across our different platforms and in different physical spaces across our campus with widely varying technological capacities. The AV Consultant would visit our campus at least twice monthly for check-in visits and troubleshooting, setting up, installing, operating, testing audio and video equipment as needed. The AV Consultant would be available for consultation by phone as needed throughout the week. Requirements Advanced understanding of AV systems and technologies used in church production such as Wirecast, Symview, and livestreaming platforms. An advanced understanding of live church, live music, or live theater production. Experience managing and coordinating live production communities and online communities. Core Competencies Regular communication via phone and text. Understanding of the dynamics of a congregation, which includes both paid staff leaders (including ministers) and volunteers involved in AV. Teamwork, patience, and problem-solving.
