AV Technician Job Summary Looking for driven individuals to perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audiovisual and automation systems for commercial clients. This is not an AV event company but a professional AV installation service. Applicants should be motivated self-starters, capable of working independently or leading a team. Responsibilities Read drawings and architectural plans. Wire pulling in new and existing construction.
Install structured cabling:
cat5e/6, video, RGB, HDMI, DVI, and audio cables. Fabricate AV racks and install all AV equipment. Mount flat panel displays, projectors, and motorized screens. Design and build AV racks. Install, test, and commission custom AV control systems. Diagnose and resolve issues related to integrated AV systems. Work with deadlines and manage projects effectively. Train customers on installed systems. Requirements Minimum 3 years of direct experience with AV systems. CTS certification preferred but not required. Strong understanding of architectural, electrical, structural & AV drawings. Experience in terminating
RCA, RJ45, DB9, HD15
connectors. Structured cabling experience required. Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control systems. Experience with Crestron, Extron, and AMX control systems. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel (DC, VA, MD). Basic English reading and writing proficiency. Additional Skills Construction industry knowledge. Proficiency with trade tools and adherence to safety standards.
