Job Description

REPORTS TO
AV Manager
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Jr. Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for performing Audio and Visual Systems support for the property, as well as installation, deployment, and maintenance of these systems. This includes but is not limited to, Audio, Video, Lighting, Systems Controls, and Event-related support. This position is an entry level position meant to focus around skills development to prepare for higher positions as they become available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities of a Jr. AV Technician. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by business requirements and management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices. Read and Interpret room diagrams for AV Setup requirements. Ensure setup and striking of AV equipment is complete for all events. Network Patching as well as Structured Cabling infrastructure verification and termination. Respond to requests from the AV Manager. Troubleshoot AV equipment and systems. Serve as AV support for events. Provide basic instruction on the operation of AV equipment to team members and guests as necessary. Ensure that AV and IT related areas are in order. AV equipment event support for various functions around the building. Assist with troubleshooting AV equipment and identifying appropriate solutions. Perform routine maintenance on AV equipment. Report damage of equipment or incidents to the AV Manager in a timely manner. Assist in storage and asset control of AV equipment. Attend AV staff meetings and training sessions. Be attentive to the safety and security policies of FireKeepers Casino Hotel. Be aware of emergency procedures and troubleshoot concerns throughout the facility. Escalate issues through appropriate escalation paths in a timely manner. Assist with the creation, testing, and maintaining of knowledgebase articles, and reference guides to support our user-base and internal Service Management tools. Continued learning with the goal of becoming an AV Technician I when position(s) open up. Provide exemplary user support and interact positively with guests, coworkers, and supervisors. Address user and guest concerns using active listening skills to determine symptoms and to gain comprehensive understanding of issues as they arise. Understand the goals and vision of the organization and demonstrate commitment to those goals in terms of individual and team performance. Prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant's education, training, and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements outlined below represent the education, experience, skills, and abilities necessary for success in this role: Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required. An applicant must demonstrate motivation to learn new systems and grow their skill-set. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities: High school diploma, GED or equivalent and/or pursuing a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification. Be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of AV equipment, computers, networking, applications, and technology. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to take direction from other AV/IT staff. Must be at least 18 years of age.
GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Either a 2-year college degree, or Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and one year of work experience in an AV technical environment. Preferred candidates are familiar with or have experience in audio DSP systems such as Q-Sys, BSS, Bi-Amp or Media Matrix; experience with lighting systems such as Paradigm, E;Cue, Pharos, or Mosaic; and experience with video distribution systems such as SVSi, NVX, or Q-Sys. Applicants should have a professional history of implementing forward-leaning AV solutions with strong customer service and team building skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to research and collect resources for knowledgebase, solutions, and projects. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematics such as probability and statistical inference.
REASONING ABILITY
Must demonstrate ability to identify and define issues, collect and document appropriate logs/ data for analysis, and demonstrate effective analytical and systematic troubleshooting skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical documentation.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where the noise level varies from quiet to loud depending upon business.
