Low Voltage Technician (Decommission Project)

Job Description:

We are actively seeking a Low Voltage Technician to join our team for a decommissioning project. In this role, the Low Voltage Technician will be responsible for the safe removal and decommissioning of AV devices and other low voltage equipment. This is a hands-on, entry-level position — no prior low voltage experience is required, just a willingness to learn, follow instructions carefully, and work well as part of a team. The successful candidate will work closely under the supervision of senior technicians to ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with furniture moves at the start of the project to prepare work areas. Decommission and remove a variety of AV devices in accordance with project instructions. Carefully disconnect and remove wireless access points (WAPs) on the final day of the project. Accurately record and track serial numbers for all removed WAPs and devices. Handle and pack removed equipment carefully to prevent damage. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project. Follow safety protocols and ensure all work is done in compliance with site rules and building requirements. Document work performed, including device locations, serial numbers, and any issues encountered. Contribute to site cleanup efforts and ensure work areas are left safe and tidy at the end of each day.

Requirements:

No prior low voltage experience required; willingness to learn is essential. Strong attention to detail, especially for accurately tracking and recording serial numbers. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions closely. Comfort with physical tasks, including moving furniture and equipment. Comfort working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces as part of routine tasks. Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and materials as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team.
