AVIT Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Audio-Visual Lead Technician who currently lives in Oklahoma. This is an ongoing, project-based 1099 independent contractor opportunity supporting commercial AV installations throughout Oklahoma. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on lead technician who can manage onsite installation activities, work independently, guide supporting technicians, and communicate professionally with project managers and customers. Responsibilities Lead commercial AV installations according to the project scope, drawings, and schedule Read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, elevations, and equipment lists Coordinate daily installation activities with project managers and supporting technicians Install commercial displays, video walls, projectors, projection screens, speakers, microphones, cameras, and conference-room systems Build, wire, label, and properly dress equipment racks Pull, terminate, label, and test AV, data, and speaker cabling Perform basic system testing and troubleshooting Maintain clean cable management and organized work areas Provide clear project updates and promptly report installation issues Maintain a professional appearance and represent AVIT Systems well at customer sites Required Qualifications 3-5+ years of commercial AV installation experience Previous experience working as an AV lead technician Ability to lead projects and direct supporting technicians when needed Strong rack-building, cable-termination, labeling, and cable-management skills Ability to read construction drawings and AV schematics Basic networking and troubleshooting knowledge Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must own basic hand tools, ladders, and standard installation equipment Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds Ability to work from ladders and lifts Willingness to travel to project locations throughout Oklahoma Dependable attendance and strong communication skills Preferred Experience Experience with the following systems and equipment is preferred: Commercial displays and video walls Projectors and projection screens Conference-room and collaboration systems DSPs, amplifiers, ceiling speakers, and microphones PTZ cameras and USB conferencing systems Logitech, Yealink, Samsung, Shure, Biamp, Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, Barco, or similar commercial AV products CTS certification is a plus but not required Compensation and Travel $25.00-$32.50 per hour, depending on experience 1099 independent contractor Ongoing project-based opportunities Approximately 30-50 hours during active project weeks Hours and assignments vary based on project schedules and are not guaranteed Approved mileage, hotel accommodations, and per diem are provided for qualifying travel projects Location Candidates may live anywhere in Oklahoma but must be able to travel to projects in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Roland, Lawton, and surrounding areas. Pay:
