Audio Visual Technicians are responsible for the seamless installation, configuration, programming, and maintenance of low voltage systems. Including audio, video, control, and paging systems. You will work in fast-paced construction environments, so focusing on safety guidelines will be essential in your daily focus. As an AV Technician, you will also communicate with other trades, project managers, and customers to meet project timelines, and ensure efficient execution of daily tasks. The ideal technician will have a strong technical background, proven troubleshooting expertise, and reputable experience in AV equipment setup, programming, and training end-users. Your contributions will ensure the successful deployment of cutting-edge AV solutions.

Responsibilities:

AV System Installation and Configuration :

Install, configure, and program various AV systems, including professional audio, video, and lighting systems, control systems, projectors, and LED walls. Job Safety Analysis (JSA) : Complete JSA forms as part of daily preparation to identify and mitigate potential hazards before starting work.

Blueprint Interpretation :

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system specifications to ensure accurate installation and integration.

Construction Site Management :

Work in active construction environments, following all safety protocols and effectively coordinating with other trades for smooth project execution.

Cabling :

Pull, terminate, and test various low voltage cabling (e.g., Cat6, Microphone, Speaker, Control, HDMI, Fiber).

System Calibration :

Set up, calibrate, and commission AV systems to meet both project and manufacturer specifications.

Troubleshooting and Repair :

Provide on-site troubleshooting, testing, and repair of installed AV systems.

User Training :

Train end users on system operation, ensuring user-friendliness and alignment with client needs.

Documentation Maintenance :

Keep and transmit organized and detailed documentation of system configurations, wiring diagrams, and project progress to your project manager.

Travel Requirements :

Travel to various job sites as needed, with occasional overnight stays based on project locations.

Ongoing Training :

Complete necessary training as directed by Project Managers.

Collaboration :

Collaborate closely with co-workers and other trades and to ensure proper integration of systems and smooth workflow.

Punctuality and Preparation :

Arrive on-site before the scheduled start time, equipped with the necessary tools.

Customer Engagement :

Interact with customers to clarify job details and ensure satisfaction.

Professional Conduct :

Standardize a high level of professionalism as the communication norm.

Timecard Management :

Enter timecards daily to track hours worked.

Task Reporting :

Report to the lead technician on each job for clarity on assigned tasks.

Site Clean-Up :

Conduct thorough site clean-up at the end of each shift.

Responsible Credit Card Use :

Use the company credit card responsibly for work-related purchases.

Lead Technician Responsibilities:

Progress Reporting:

Conduct daily progress reports with Project Managers and plan next steps for the team.

Job Completion Oversight:

Ensure all elements of job completion are executed, including safety, defined tasks, quality assurance, and effective communication.

Team Supervision:

Ensure all technicians on site follow and execute their assigned responsibilities.

•

Safety:

Perform a safety inspection of the job site before starting work and communicate findings with the team. Hold brief safety meetings before the start of each workday.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry materials and tools up to 50 lbs. Capability to work at heights using ladders, lifts, or scaffolding. Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.

$23.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
