Salary:
$60,000 - 80,000/year We are seeking an experienced Lead AV Field Technician to lead on-site commercial audio-visual installations across client facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing field operations, directing junior technicians, and executing hands-on installations of complex control systems, video distribution, and unified communications (UC) platforms. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical point of contact on-site. Manage local team members and subcontractors to ensure installations stay on schedule and meet quality standards. Pull, terminate, test, and label structured low-voltage cabling (Cat6, fiber, coaxial, audio). Mount displays, video walls, projectors, motorized screens, microphones, and speakers. Build, wire, and dress equipment racks to industry standards (InfoComm/AVIXA) with precise cable management and power distribution. Load and test pre-written control system programs (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS). Calibrate audio systems (DSPs) and video routing components; troubleshoot complex hardware/signal path issues. Conduct post-install system punch-lists, perform final sign-off testing with project managers, and provide end-user training to client representatives. Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on experience installing commercial AV systems, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory field role. Proficient with Crestron (NVX, DigitalMedia, Series 3/4 processors) and Extron (NAV, Global Configurator, IPCP processors). Hands-on experience loading code, updating firmware, and signal testing. Deep understanding of audio signal processing (Biamp Tesira, QSC Q-SYS, ClearOne). Knowledge of video distribution networks (AVoIP, HDBaseT, Dante/AES67). Ability to read and interpret floor plans, schematic drawings, and structural drawings.
