Apply Now We are seeking a Desktop / Audio Visual Technician to provide hands-on technical support for classroom technology, audio-visual systems, and live events. This role will support instructors, staff, and event attendees by ensuring classroom technology, video conferencing platforms, and AV equipment are functioning effectively for both in-person and hybrid learning environments. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of desktop support experience and audio-visual technical expertise, with the ability to troubleshoot integrated technology systems and provide real-time support during classes and events. Key Responsibilities Provide desktop and end-user support for classroom and event technology. Assist instructors with podium computers, presentation systems, and related classroom technologies. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and audio-visual equipment issues. Support integrated AV systems, including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems. Ensure hybrid and multi-location classes are properly connected through Zoom and other conferencing platforms. Monitor classroom recording systems to verify audio and video quality and resolve issues as needed. Set up, test, and support technology for meetings, classes, and special events. Operate sound systems, microphones, cameras, and video conferencing equipment during live events. Provide on-site technical support before, during, and after events to ensure successful execution. Perform routine testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of classroom and AV equipment. Work closely with faculty, staff, and event organizers to identify and meet technology requirements. Required Qualifications Experience providing desktop support in a corporate, educational, or professional environment. Experience supporting audio-visual equipment and integrated AV systems. Knowledge of Windows operating systems and standard desktop hardware. Experience supporting Zoom or comparable video conferencing platforms. Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop, audio, video, and presentation technologies. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend events. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting classroom technology or hybrid learning environments. Familiarity with lecture capture or classroom recording systems. Experience operating live event audio and video equipment. Knowledge of AV control systems and integrated conferencing solutions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of State College, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
