As demand for our AV practice continues to grow, we are expanding our field team. We are currently hiring for two positions based out of our Orange County, California office: AV Technician and AV Project Manager . Both roles require a professional who is comfortable working on-site at client facilities and willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Up to 50-75% — local, regional, and occasional nationwide travel to client sites Position Summary The AV Technician is the hands-on backbone of our AV installations. This role installs, configures, tests, troubleshoots, and commissions audiovisual systems ranging from small video conference rooms to large enterprise training rooms. The ideal candidate combines strong technical craft (rack fabrication, cable termination, device configuration) with deep knowledge of today's leading conferencing and control platforms, and represents Crown Networks professionally in front of clients on every job site. Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Integration Install and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat6/6A, HDMI, HDBaseT, fiber (where required), speaker wire, balanced audio, and control cabling to industry standards. Fabricate, wire, and label equipment racks; maintain clean, serviceable, documentation-quality rack builds. Mount displays, projectors, video walls, cameras, microphones, speakers, touch panels, and other AV hardware per drawings and manufacturer specifications. Install and configure AV systems for small to large video conference rooms (huddle rooms, standard conference rooms, executive boardrooms) and large training rooms / multi-purpose spaces. Integrate AV systems with client networks, including VLAN configuration coordination, PoE budgeting, and Dante/audio-over-IP transport setup. Configuration & Commissioning Configure and commission video conferencing solutions on Microsoft Teams Rooms and Google Meet platforms, including Logitech, Shure, and Q-SYS-based room systems. Load, test, and verify Crestron control programs and touch panel projects; perform basic Crestron toolbox-level diagnostics and adjustments. Configure Control4 systems for integrated environments (lighting, shades, audio distribution, climate control) where applicable. Configure Q-SYS cores, DSP layouts, and peripherals for audio processing, routing, and amplification. Configure Shure microphone ecosystems (MXA ceiling/table arrays, P300, IntelliMix) for optimal room audio coverage.
Perform end-to-end system testing:
audio tuning (gain structure, EQ, AEC), video alignment, camera framing, far-end/near-end call quality, and recording/streaming paths. Conduct client-facing system walkthroughs and end-user training at handoff. Service & Support Diagnose and resolve AV system faults in the field — hardware, software, network, and configuration related. Provide on-site and remote support, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades for existing client installations.
Document all work:
as-built drawings, configuration files, test results, service reports, and closeout documentation. Coordinate daily with the AV Project Manager regarding site status, schedule changes, material needs, and punch-list items. Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory in a clean, organized, job-ready state. Proven experience setting up small to large video conference room solutions and large training rooms. Demonstrated proficiency across the certified platforms listed above. Strong understanding of audio DSP concepts (AEC, noise reduction, gain sharing, Dante networking). Ability to read and interpret AV system design drawings, signal flow diagrams, and architectural/blueprint documents. Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to travel up to 50-75% including occasional overnight and out-of-state travel. OSHA 10/30, CTS, or CTS-I credentials are a strong plus. Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by client sites. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; push/pull equipment carts and cases up to 100 lbs. Work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding; work above ceilings and in confined spaces. Comfortable in active construction sites, corporate offices, and occupied client facilities.
