High school diploma or GED Driver's License Associate's degree Full Job Description Position Summary The Audiovisual (AV) Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of audiovisual systems in commercial, federal, and public-sector environments. This role supports conference rooms, boardrooms, council chambers, and other presentation spaces, ensuring reliable system performance and high-quality user experiences. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and commission AV systems including displays, projectors, audio systems, microphones, control systems, and video conferencing equipment Read and interpret system schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings Perform cable pulling, termination, labeling, and rack assembly in accordance with industry standards Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance to ensure proper functionality Provide on-site and remote technical support for AV system issues Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades during installation projects Maintain documentation including as-built drawings, test reports, and service logs Train end users on proper system operation and basic troubleshooting Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and client requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred 2+ years of experience in AV installation, integration, or technical support Knowledge of AV systems including audio DSPs, video distribution, control systems, and networking fundamentals Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Experience with AV control platforms (Crestron, Extron, QSC) preferred Familiarity with structured cabling standards (CAT6, fiber, etc.) Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license required Preferred Certifications CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Extron, Crestron)

(for construction environments) Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs Comfortable working on ladders and in construction environments Ability to perform physical tasks such as pulling cable and mounting equipment Work Environment Combination of office, construction sites, and client facilities May require early mornings, evenings, or weekend work depending on project schedules Travel Requirements Travel is required and will vary based on project location May include local, regional, and out-of-state assignments Flexibility to travel for extended periods as needed to support installation and service activities
