We are looking for an experienced Residential AV & Control4 Technician who can install, configure, troubleshoot, and program residential automation and AV systems. This is an experienced technician position, not an entry-level installer role. Control4 programming experience is required. This is a field-based, hands-on position in the Charleston area. This is not a remote or work-from-home position. What You'll Do Program, configure, and troubleshoot Control4 systems Install and service residential audio/video and home automation systems Install and configure TVs, projectors, automated screens, theater systems, and distributed audio/video Install and configure hard-wired and wireless networks Troubleshoot system, programming, networking, and equipment issues Install and service residential security and surveillance systems Configure cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and related equipment Install racks, AV components, control equipment, and associated hardware Perform pre-wiring and structured cabling for new construction and retrofit projects Terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot industry-standard cabling Read project documentation and complete installations according to specifications Work directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and explain system operation Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory Coordinate with the project team to keep installations on schedule
What We're Looking For Required:
Hands-on experience programming Control4 systems Experience installing and troubleshooting residential AV and/or home automation systems Strong understanding of residential networking, including wired and wireless networks Ability to troubleshoot system problems and determine the root cause rather than simply replace equipment Experience with structured cabling, AV components, displays, racks, and related equipment Valid driver's license and excellent driving record High school diploma or GED Ability to work independently in the field and as part of a project teamPreferred:
3+ years of residential AV/home automation experience Control4 certifications Experience with residential security, surveillance, home theaters, distributed audio/video, and networking Experience working in both new construction and retrofit environments Physical Requirements This is a hands-on field position. Technicians must be able to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods. The position also requires working on ladders, in confined spaces, and in hot or cold environments and lifting/moving equipment as required.
