We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV & Network Systems Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional audio-visual setups and advanced network infrastructure. You will be responsible for deploying, and troubleshooting integrated systems that rely heavily on robust IP networking, smart automation, and security ecosystems efficiently to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure:
Hook up, and configure robust local area networks (LAN/WLAN) tailored for high-demand AV traffic.
IP Deployment & Management:
Manage IP address allocation, subnets, and VLAN segmentation for connected devices.
Network Optimization:
Apply working knowledge of Spanning Tree Protocols (STP/RSTP) to prevent network loops and ensure redundant, stable topologies.
Wireless Deployment:
Position, install, and configure wireless access points (APs) for seamless roaming and optimal coverage.
Smart Automation:
Program, configure, and troubleshoot Lutron and Control4 smart home and commercial automation systems.
Security & Surveillance:
Deploy and configure IP cameras (NVR setups, frame rates, bitrates) and integrate modern access control systems. Troubleshoot and repair AV equipment, computer hardware, networking devices, and software issues efficiently to minimize downtime
Customer Service:
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of varying technical backgrounds.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
2-5 years of hands-on experience in AV integration and network administration.
Networking Expertise:
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DHCP, and firewall configurations.
Hardware Familiarity:
Experience with network brands commonly used in AV (e.g., Araknis, Eero, Ubiquiti).
Control Systems:
Direct, hands-on experience with Lutron and Control4 (Lutron Lighting/Shades and Control4 Certification is a major plus).
Problem Solving:
Strong diagnostic skills for troubleshooting complex network bottlenecks and AV signal path issues.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work with basic hand/power tools.
Structured Wiring:
Read blueprints to accurately implement wiring and cabling for low voltage and telecommunication systems
