Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custom Integration Technician to join our dynamic team at NXT Level Smart Home on a full-time or part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, interpreting technical schematics, and integrating custom audio, video, networking, and control components into complex residential and commercial smart home systems. Your technical expertise and precision attention to detail will ensure the highest quality standards are met while working with a variety of hand and power tools. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within a fast-paced custom integration environment, emphasizing safety, craftsmanship, and efficiency. Responsibilities Read and interpret system schematics, floor plans, and construction documents to guide installation, wiring, and integration processes Execute low-voltage cabling, path management, and precise terminations (RJ45, coaxial, speaker wire) to ensure components meet exact system specifications Assemble, mount, wire, and dress custom AV equipment, rack systems, displays, speakers, and networking gear using hand tools and power tools Perform soldering, wire termination, and electrical connections as required for low-voltage system integration Conduct manual handling of equipment and assemblies with adherence to job site safety protocols and proper ladder safety Interpret technical drawings accurately to facilitate precise equipment placement, rack building, and system configuration Verify line-of-sight, drop-pole measurements, and component fit using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with design and installation standards Qualifications Proven experience with custom AV integration, smart home automation, low-voltage cabling, and schematic reading in an integration or low-voltage setting Strong technical and mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret floor plans, system schematics, and architectural drawings Familiarity with control platforms, structured wiring, and network deployment processes; having your own set of tools is a major plus Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering equipment, and specialized low-voltage tools Ability to perform equipment installation and rack building with attention to detail and high-standard craftsmanship Knowledge of interpreting technical drawings and signal flow documents for accurate smart home system integration Experience with custom residential and commercial control systems is preferred Commitment to safety practices including job site awareness, safe power tool operation, and manual handling procedures (ability to lift 50+ lbs)
Pay:
$16.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
