Job Description

Audio Video (AV) Technician
  • Residential Location
  • Charlottesville, VA Schedule
  • Monday-Thursday
  • 6:30AM-3:30PM Status

employees several audio/video staff members. It is important that you understand you are working as part of a team and your contributions are evaluated and recognized. The role of the AV Technician is to ensure a flawless installation of equipment inside the client's home. The AV Technician may work alone or with other team members on a specific job. AV Tech may have an assigned helper if need be and follow the directive of the Project Manager thru to job completion.
Qualifications:
AV Tech must be performance driven, outgoing individual, who is self
  • motivated, works well independently, as well as with others, possesses excellent communications skills, trouble shooting skills for IT based products, computer networks and consumer electronics.
Day to day requirements:
  • Pre-wire homes under construction for A/V and home automation projects
  • Build A/V equipment racks with meticulous wiring approach demonstrating ability to follow detailed design plans
  • Install TV's, music systems, speakers (floor, wall mounted and recessed), entry systems, and motorized shades.
  • Install and assist programmers with whole home automation systems including integrated systems for A/V, light, shade, and climate control systems.
  • Assist programmers with customized remote controls, home automation software, iPad/iPhone, Android tablets and control apps.
  • Calibrate and program home media/theater systems (knowledge of Savant, Crestron, Control4 and Lutron systems)
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
Must have a High School Diploma At least 5 years of work experience in the AV industry field (i.e. electronics, audio video, pulling wire, general home construction) At least 5 years of experience with electronics (set-up, installing, handling, hanging TV's, etc.)
