Electronics Lead Production Technician Fasetto Inc. Tustin, CA Job Details Temp-to-hire $28
  • $40 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Packing Cable termination Administrative experience Assembly Data entry Manufacturing Electrical soldering Full Job Description Electronics Lead Production Technician Wireless Systems Assembly & Test | Southern California Job Type Full-Time, On-Site Location Southern California (Office/Lab Environment) Reports To Operations / Engineering Lead Pay Range $28
  • $40 per hour ($58,240
  • $83,200 annually) Experience Required 3-6 years electronics assembly, production, or related technical field Position Overview We are a small electronics company building wireless systems consisting of one transmitter (TX) and six receivers (RX) per deployed unit.
We are looking for a Production Lead Technician who will work hands-on in the production process every single day — building, programming, testing, and shipping product alongside any team members present. This is not a supervisory-only role. You will be on the bench, soldering iron in hand, meeting daily output targets alongside everyone else, while also providing guidance, maintaining quality standards, and keeping production moving. If you are looking for a role where you manage from a desk, this is not it. If you are someone who leads by doing, trains by showing, and measures success by units shipped — read on. What "Hands-On Lead" Means Here You will personally execute production steps daily — this is a working lead role, not a coordination role When volume is low or team members are absent, you are the production output You will train and guide others by working shoulder-to-shoulder with them, not by directing from a distance You will be the first to troubleshoot a process problem and the last to leave a step unresolved Administrative duties (logging, labeling, tracking) are real but secondary to getting product built and out the door Production Workflow — You Will Own and Execute Every Step You and your team will run a linear, repeatable production process for each 1-TX + 6-RX system. You are expected to be personally proficient at every step below: 1. Cable Assembly & Soldering — Attach cables to PCBAs and hand-solder wire connections. You set the quality standard others follow. 2. Firmware Programming — Flash firmware onto MCU-based boards per work instructions. Able to identify and resolve common programming failures independently. 3. Network
ID & MAC
Address Assignment — Scan and correctly associate barcoded network IDs and MAC addresses to each board. Zero-error tolerance — you verify your own work and spot-check others. 4. Linux Image & Startup Script — Run the startup script on the Linux image for applicable boards. Comfortable enough with command-line steps to catch errors and coach others through them. 5. Enclosure Assembly — Install programmed PCBAs into plastic enclosures per work instructions. Maintains pace and upholds quality standard for the step. 6. System Test — Set up and execute full 1-TX + 6-RX system tests. Accurately log pass/fail results. Understands what a failure means and when to escalate. 7. Pack & Ship Prep — Box, label, and stage finished systems for shipment. Ensures all documentation is complete before anything leaves the facility. Lead Responsibilities (In Addition to Daily Production Work) As the lead, a portion of your role — especially when team members are present — involves: Training new team members hands-on using our work instructions as the guide Maintaining consistent quality standards across all production steps, including your own output Tracking daily production targets and communicating progress or shortfalls to leadership Identifying process bottlenecks or recurring defects and proposing practical fixes Keeping the workspace organized, stocked, and ready for efficient production Flagging issues with tooling, materials, or work instructions to the engineering lead Ideal Candidate Profile Work Style Leads by example — earns respect through doing, not directing Self-starter who takes initiative without waiting to be told what needs doing Thrives in quiet, independent environments and keeps others on pace without micromanaging Comfortable working alone and as the sole operator when team members are absent Takes personal pride in daily output quality and quantity Stays focused through repetitive, detail-oriented production work across a full shift Technical Background 3-6 years of experience in electronics assembly, PCB production, firmware programming, or a closely related field Hands-on soldering proficiency required (wire terminations, through-hole); IPC-J-STD-001 or equivalent experience a plus Comfortable running software procedures, working with barcodes and serial numbers, and catching data entry errors Basic Linux command-line familiarity strongly preferred — ability to run scripts, read terminal output, and recognize errors Prior experience programming or flashing embedded boards (JTAG, UART, USB bootloader, or similar) a plus Ability to read, follow, and help improve written work instructions Leadership & Soft Skills Patient, clear communicator when training others — teaches through demonstration
Accountable:
owns output numbers and quality results, does not deflect Practical problem-solver who addresses production issues before escalating Organized enough to track serialized units, test logs, and shipping records accurately Comfortable being the most experienced person in the room and setting the tone for quality and pace What We Offer Full training on our product, process, and work instructions — we expect you to master it and then teach it A stable, focused production environment with clear daily goals Direct impact — in a small operation, your output and leadership visibly drive company results Competitive pay of $28
  • $40/hr based on experience (Southern California market rate for working lead roles) Exposure to embedded wireless systems, Linux-based firmware workflows, and end-to-end electronics production Room to grow as the company scales — the right person will help shape how this production operation evolves Compensation Context — Southern California Market The $28
  • $40/hr range reflects Southern California market rates for a working lead role in electronics production. Candidates with 3-4 years of assembly and firmware experience, solid soldering skills, and some prior training or team guidance experience typically fall in the $28
  • $34/hr range. Candidates who bring demonstrated Linux familiarity, embedded board programming, proven lead or trainer experience, and a track record of hitting production targets independently can expect $35
  • $40/hr.
This range benchmarks against Electronics Technician, Production Lead, and Manufacturing Lead roles across the Southern California region. How to Apply Submit a resume that clearly describes your hands-on technical experience and any prior lead, training, or process ownership responsibilities. We are particularly interested in candidates who can speak to specific production environments they have worked in, what they built, and how they personally contributed to output quality and throughput. A brief note explaining why you prefer working on the bench over working at a desk will stand out. — We need someone who builds the thing, not just manages the building of it. —
