IT TECHNICIAN IV

• AUDIOVISUAL SYSTEMS (Temporary Session Hire) Carson City, Nevada Salary up to $91,496 (employee/employer-paid retirement plan) The Information Technology Services (ITS) Unit of the Legislative Counsel Bureau (LCB) is seeking a diverse pool of qualified applicants for the position of IT Technician IV
• Audiovisual Systems within the Administrative Division.

The LCB is a nonpartisan, legislative service agency that provides professional, technical and administrative support to the Nevada Legislature, which convenes biennially in odd-numbered years for 120-day sessions and for rare special sessions during the interim periods. The ITS Unit provides technical support to legislators, legislative staff and the LCB. This is a temporary, full-time position located in Carson City, Nevada. This position has a maximum duration of 12 months, but may end sooner depending on the needs of the LCB and the Legislature. .

Position Description:

Under the general supervision of the IT Manager

• Audiovisual & Hearings, the IT Technician IV
• Audiovisual Systems will configure, troubleshoot and maintain audiovisual systems that broadcast and record the LCB's public meetings and events. Responsibilities of the IT Technician IV
• Audiovisual Systems may include, without limitation:
• Providing first‑class service to legislators, legislative staff, the LCB, other public agencies and members of the public;
• Supporting technology operations to ensure smooth functioning of systems during public meetings;
• Collaborating with LCB units and divisions to deliver a seamless user experience;
• Participating in Audiovisual and Hearings projects to support unit initiatives;
• Installing and maintaining audiovisual systems while troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing broadcast, production and audiovisual technologies across studios, editing bays and control rooms;
• Supporting daily operations of committee rooms, event spaces, equipment rooms, chambers and editing or recording booths;
• Ensuring reliable performance of critical production equipment, including, without limitation, cameras, lighting systems, switchers, teleprompters, video walls, interactive monitors and wired or wireless audio systems;
• Monitoring system performance in real time during live public meetings or events to ensure uninterrupted service;
• Providing technical support for live productions such as public meetings and events;
• Coordinating with vendors and manufacturers to manage firmware updates, repairs, technical support and system maintenance;
• Transporting and setting up equipment while monitoring, testing and performing turndown of audiovisual equipment, streaming platforms and virtual meeting systems for events and public meetings;
• Creating and responding to support requests in person or through phone, email, ticket or chat in a timely manner according to established procedures;
• Creating documentation of work performed or service requests in the IT Service Management Tool (ITSM);
• Performing basic network maintenance, including, without limitation, configuration and troubleshooting under the direction of network specialists;
• Assisting with ITS initiatives and projects as necessary; and
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

The IT Technician IV

• Audiovisual Systems will be selected with special preference given to the candidate's training, experience and aptitude in the field of audiovisual engineering.

A qualified candidate must have:

(1) a valid driver's license; (2) a high school diploma/GED; and (3) at least 3 years of professional experience in audiovisual engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid

certifications may substitute up to 1 year of experience.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Expertise in delivering exceptional customer service to end users from diverse backgrounds and skill levels;
• The ability to work both independently and with a team;
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite;
• Experience with ITSM platforms such as HaloPSA/HaloITSM, ServiceNow, N-Able, ManageEngine, Freshdesk, Ivanti Heat, ConnectWise PSA, SysAid and Team Dynamix;
• Professionalism, integrity, accountability and sound judgement;
• Experience with live video production, including, without limitation, audio mixing, camera operation, lighting, graphics, recording and streaming;
• Experience with video switching and production automation technology solutions from Ross Video, Blackmagic Design, Vaddio, Crestron and Extron;
• Experience with audio systems such as QSC Q-SYS or BIAMP Tesira DSPs and mixers;
• Experience with Ross Video or Panasonic PTZ broadcast IP cameras;
• Experience with Sennheiser or Shure wired and wireless microphone and logic systems;
• Understanding of audiovisual signal flow and connections between production audiovisual equipment;
• Understanding of audiovisual assistive technology solutions such as Listen Technologies and closed captioning;
• Understanding of computer networking and AVoIP technologies;
• Experience performing basic network administration tasks such as port and VLAN configuration;
• Familiarity with state government, especially in a legislative environment; and
• The ability to lift and move medium to large items weighing up to 50 pounds, without assistance, employing proper safety techniques.

Salary:

The annual salary for this position is based upon a Grade 34, which has a salary range of $61,721 to $91,496 for the employee/employer-paid retirement option. An employer-paid contribution plan is also available with a reduced salary in lieu of an employee contribution. The actual starting salary will be based on experience.

Working Conditions:

The work is performed in a typical office environment. The successful candidate must already reside within a one-hour radius of Carson City, Nevada. Overtime is required during legislative sessions and certain other periods as necessary to meet the demands of the Legislature. When overtime is worked, the IT Technician IV

• Audiovisual Systems may earn compensatory time that can be taken at a later date or be paid for the overtime, consistent with the LCB Rules and Policies and subject to budgetary limits.
