Job Description
Duties Description Under the direction of the Executive Support Director, you will staff high-profile live event video productions in the field, primarily as a hands-on videographer, and will also be called on to fill several roles in live production. This role requires an expert-level understanding of live television environments, advanced camera systems, production switchers, and complex transmission workflows. The ideal candidate brings a sharp eye for detail, deep technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to thrive in a demanding, changing environment. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
Field Leadership:
Serve as Crew Chief for large, multi-camera live productions in the field, managing technical setup, execution, and crew coordination.
Live Switching:
Act as a Technical Director for live events, focusing on basic switching and broadcast management rather than full program direction.
Camera & Media Capture:
Operate high-end camera systems for statewide live events, satellite media tours, and dedicated b-roll packages.
Technical Setup & Quality Control:
Oversee production lighting design and execute strict audio/video quality control for all outgoing feeds.
Transmission Management:
Configure and operate IFB systems and advanced transmission workflows, including satellite, fiber, Video over IP, and bonded cellular systems.
Post-Production:
Efficiently edit, format, and output high-quality video assets using Adobe Premiere Pro.
NOTE:
Travel and a variable schedule, including overtime in support of operations, are required as necessary. Travel assignments will include frequent overnight travel on short notice. Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience
• as a news videographer, studio camera operator, art director, copywriter, graphic designer, video editor, producer, or web designer with a national network, local network television affiliate, cable news, commercial media production facility, marketing communications agency or related operation. College study in a related field may be substituted for up to four years of experience with 30 credit hours equaling one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Live Broadcast Experience:
Extensive, proven background working in live television or high-stakes live event production.
Advanced Technical Knowledge:
Expert-level proficiency with professional camera systems, production switchers, and signal flow.
Transmission Systems:
Hands-on experience with satellite, fiber, Video over IP (VoIP), and bonded cellular systems (e.g., LiveU, Comrex).
NOTE:
IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME, YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
