Launch Pod Studio This is not an entry-level AV role. We're looking for someone who can walk into a professional podcast studio and confidently help run a session. If this is already second nature to you, keep reading. Welcome to Launch Pod Studio! Launch Pod Studio is a fast-growing podcast and content production studio in Midtown Manhattan. In two years, we've produced 1,000+ podcast episodes and branded productions for creators, executives, celebrities, athletes and major brands. Clients and guests have included Alex Hormozi, Tim Ferriss, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Fat Joe, Van Jones, Daniel Mac, Kel Mitchell, Oz Pearlman, Marina Mogilko and Karine Jean-Pierre, along with productions for Lyft, BBC World Service, Polymarket and Kalshi. We're looking for an experienced Freelance Audio / Video Engineer who can help us maintain a high standard of production and client experience. Some days you'll engineer one long recording. Other days you'll reset the studio and turn around several productions back-to-back. You should be comfortable with both. What You'll Do Set up and operate up to 3-camera podcast productions Frame, expose, focus and white-balance cameras Set up and position microphones Monitor audio levels and identify clipping, noise or signal issues Light hosts and guests professionally Operate recording and switching equipment Live-switch multi-camera sessions when needed Monitor cameras, media, batteries and recording status Troubleshoot technical issues during sessions Confirm all required audio and video sources are recording Organize, label, back up and transfer footage Perform quality-control checks before clients leave Reset cameras, microphones, lighting and furniture between sessions Maintain an organized studio Create a professional, welcoming experience for every client and guest Minimum Qualifications 1+ year of hands-on professional experience in AV, video production, podcast production, broadcast or studio production is strongly preferred.
You should understand:
Professional mirrorless or cinema cameras Manual camera settings including ISO, shutter speed, aperture and white balance Exposure, focus, framing and composition Professional video lighting XLR microphones and audio signal flow Gain staging and multi-channel audio Multi-camera production Media management and file transfers Real-time technical troubleshooting Experience with Sony FX3, FX30, ZV-E10 or comparable camera systems is strongly preferred.
You should also be:
