Utility II (Experienced)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Utility II to support Technical Operations for a live remote television broadcast of the OLY

• Colorado @ Texas Tech soccer match at the John Walker Soccer Complex.

The Utility II will assist with broadcast setup, show execution, and teardown, working closely with the Technical Operations team to ensure equipment and cabling are properly handled throughout the production.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the unloading and loading of medium to heavy broadcast equipment cases from production trucks.
• Assist with setup and teardown of remote television broadcast equipment.
• Lay out, manage, and pick up broadcast cabling throughout the venue.
• Carry and manage camera batteries and other broadcast accessories.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe cable paths around the production area.
• Work behind handheld camera operators to manage and maintain tidy cable coils during the broadcast.
• Properly perform "over/under" cable wrapping to prevent cable damage and ensure efficient deployment.
• Assist Technical Operations personnel with other production-related tasks as needed.
• Follow all venue, production, and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in live television, sports broadcasting, or remote production required.
• Operational familiarity with common TV broadcast equipment, including: cameras, broadcast cables, monitors, and camera batteries and related accessories
• Must be proficient in over/under cable wrapping techniques.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload medium to heavy equipment cases.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced live-event environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining an organized and safe work area.
• Ability to work as part of a Technical Operations team and follow direction from department leads.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires extended periods of standing and walking, as well as frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of broadcast equipment and cable. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and around an active sports venue. Specific call time, rate, and reporting instructions to be provided upon booking.
