Performs paraprofessional tasks required to set up, operate and maintain cameras, lighting and audio equipment for events, conferences, and meetings; reviews manuals for new equipment, summarizes information, and trains.

Qualifications:

Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. One (1) year of experience in the production of digital or graphic media. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Knowledge of practices, procedures, policies, and standard operating procedures in television production and audio-visual support. Knowledge of cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and test equipment. Ability to operate a personal computer and related equipment to process, develop, analyze, and create data. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred Education supplemented with technical courses.

Major Duties/Essential Functions:

Provides paraprofessional multimedia production assistance in a studio or field assignment to include participating in the set-up and on-site production of audio-visual presentation systems for divisionwide events, conference, and meetings. Performs as crew chief or floor director for specified assignments; operates a camera by performing technical setup, composing shots, moving the camera, and troubleshooting. Oversees studio and field lighting including lighting design, instrument and lamp selection, instrument positioning, use of a light meter and use of color correction and diffusion materials, Directs microphone selection, set-up, and placement. Uses audio mixers in the studio and the field. Sets up and uses communications equipment including studio intercom systems, interrupted feedback (IFB) systems, and telephone interface units. Assists with the construction, staging, and storage of sets and scenery for studio and field productions. Reviews manuals for new equipment, summarizes information, and provides training. Performs inventories of equipment and products. Maintains records and creates reports, as required. Performs related duties as required or assigned.
