Our programs include Public Speaking, Debate, Hosting & Presentation, Reading & Writing, and Drama , helping students develop confidence, communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills. Our Speech & Debate team has earned 200+ national and state-level championship titles over the past five years , with a winning rate of approximately 55% . Able2Shine has also achieved Top 3 sweepstakes rankings at national speech and debate tournaments for multiple consecutive years. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced Writing Coach to work with students in the U.S. and China. The Role The Writing Coach will teach and mentor students in academic, creative, and competition writing , with a focus on preparing students for U.S. writing competitions such as the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and John Locke Essay Competition .
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching and coaching students in essay and 1creative writing
- Helping students develop strong ideas, structure, arguments, and writing style
- Providing detailed feedback and guiding students through revision and editing
- Preparing students for writing competitions and academic writin. Qualifications
- 5+ years of writing teaching/coaching experience
- Experience preparing students for U.S. writing competitions preferred
- Familiarity with Scholastic, John Locke , or similar competitions is a strong plus
- Bachelor's degree or higher required; English,
- Energetic, professional, creative, and dependable Location & Schedule
- Bay Area-based or available to teach online
- Part-time and full-time opportunities available
