Job Description
Are you well-versed in writing everything from long-form sell copy to pitch manifestos to new product naming? Do you excel at bringing creative pieces together into tight, memorable ideas that can live on and on? Do you keep up with social, cultural, and campaign trends like it's, well, your job? Excellent. Please read on. We're hiring a Senior Campaign Copywriter to report to the Group Creative Director, New Media and join them in working closely with our Creative and Account Teams across the CDG studios in LA, NY, and Bristol, UK. This role is focused on developing clear, compelling, and strategically-grounded creative copy and thinking across campaigns/projects, as well as all aspects of client-facing storytelling. The ideal candidate is a strong conceptual writer who can think visually, collaborate closely with the design team, and knows how to best bring big ideas to life. This person should be comfortable moving between strategic messaging, brand voice, naming, headlines, packaging copy, presentation narratives, and broader brand expression, as well as populating their thinking with cultural inspiration and brand campaign knowledge.
Responsibilities include:
Creative Writing & Brand Communications:
Develop creative copy across campaigns, brand identity systems, packaging, digital touchpoints, presentations, and brand guidelines Translate brand strategy into clear, ownable messaging, including brand voice, tone of voice, messaging frameworks, taglines, headlines, naming concepts, and product copy Write packaging copy, including front-of-pack messaging, romance copy, claims language, flavor/product descriptions, and communication hierarchy Shape client-facing storytelling for creative concepts, pitch materials, case studies, credentials decks, and presentations Partner with designers to ensure verbal and visual ideas work together as a cohesive brand expression Adapt writing style across categories, audiences, and brand personalities Edit and refine copy based on internal feedback, client direction, and strategic objectivesCollaboration & Creative Process:
Work closely with the Group Creative Director, Creative, and Account Teams to understand client needs, feedback, timelines, and deliverables Participate in brainstorms, creative reviews, and internal concept development sessions Help articulate the rationale behind creative ideas in a way that is clear, thoughtful, and client-ready Manage multiple projects at once while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality Help teams uncover creative "hooks"/big ideas, sticky/memorable messaging, and work that works across various touchpointsBrand & Industry Awareness:
Stay current on trends in branding and design, advertising campaigns, culture, and consumer goods Bring a strong point of view on language, storytelling, and how brands can connect with consumers Understand how copy works within packaging systems, shelf environments, brand campaigns, and broader consumer touchpoints Provide recommendations on how verbal identity can strengthen brand distinctiveness, clarity, and emotional relevanceSalary:
$125-155K Requirements 7+ years of experience in a branding or advertising agency environment Strong portfolio demonstrating brand writing, campaign thinking, packaging copy, messaging systems, and/or tone of voice development Ability to think conceptually and strategically, not just write tactically Strong understanding of how language and design work together Experience writing for CPG, food and beverage, lifestyle, wellness, or consumer brands preferred Comfortable developing work from early concept through final execution Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines Able to take feedback well and refine work quickly Proficient with Mac OS; comfortable with usage of proven AI tools; familiarity with Google Workspace, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plusLocation:
