Job Description

Culinary Director | Creative & Hands-On WoodGrain Bagels Denver, CO Job Details Full-time $26 - $35 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Food provided Qualifications Sourcing Team development Continuous improvement Scalability Teaching Full Job Description Culinary Director WoodGrain Hospitality Group | Boulder + Denver Metro, CO Full-Time We're Looking for a Chef Who Loves to Create WoodGrain Hospitality Group is looking for a creative, hands-on Culinary Director to help shape what our food becomes next. We are a growing, independent Colorado hospitality group with multiple concepts and more in development. We're looking for someone with a strong culinary point of view, an exceptional eye for beautiful food and the curiosity to continually make things better. You'll work directly with our founders and alongside our restaurant and kitchen teams to evolve existing menus, develop seasonal newness and help bring entirely new concepts to life. This is not a corporate desk-chef position. We want someone who still loves being in the kitchen—testing, tasting, sourcing, teaching and creating. What You'll Do Set the culinary and menu direction across WoodGrain Hospitality Group. Create new dishes, seasonal offerings and menu updates. Continually improve existing menu items, ingredients and presentation. Bring a strong visual eye to how our food is prepared, built and presented. Develop and test recipes, then work alongside teams to successfully implement them. Source great ingredients and build strong vendor relationships. Balance creativity with food cost, consistency and real-world restaurant execution. Establish clear culinary standards for taste, quality and presentation. Train and support teams during menu launches and changes. Partner directly with the founders on new concepts, menus and culinary ideas. Stay curious about restaurants, ingredients and what is happening in food—locally and beyond. Who You Are An experienced chef with a strong creative culinary background . You have developed menus and dishes—not just executed someone else's. You have an exceptional eye for food presentation and detail. You love ingredients, restaurants and discovering new ideas. You understand food cost and scalability without allowing them to kill creativity. You are hands-on, resourceful and comfortable jumping into the kitchen. You enjoy working collaboratively with owners and restaurant teams. You are entrepreneurial, adaptable and comfortable in a growing business. Independent restaurants, chef-driven concepts or smaller hospitality groups are strongly preferred. You have low ego, high standards and genuinely enjoy developing people. What Makes This Opportunity Different WoodGrain is an entrepreneurial hospitality company, not a corporate restaurant group. You'll have the opportunity to make a real mark on our food and work directly with the people making the decisions. We already have established concepts, a growing team and new ideas in development. We're looking for the person who can help us take the culinary side of the company to the next level. To Apply Please send your résumé along with photos, menus or examples of food you have personally created or developed. We care about your experience, but we also want to see your point of view. If you're a chef who wants to build, create and still get your hands dirty, we'd love to meet you.
