They excel in strategy, insight-driven advertising, persona-driven media planning and buying, direct response, video and film production, post, design, digital and web development. Notable competitive advantage is having one of the largest production facilities in the Mid-Atlantic. The client roster spans national entertainment and cable brands, regional and national consumer brands, government agencies, and mission-driven nonprofits. Also unique with this opportunity is being part of the operation of a dedicated faith-based division serving religious organizations across North America — work their team takes personally. The client is small enough that everyone's hands are on the work, and established enough to provide real career growth and advancement. The Role We're looking for a Creative Director to lead their creative department and own every account in the building. This is a high-ownership seat. You'll set the creative standard, run the people who execute it, and be accountable for every project landing on time, on budget, and better than the client expected. You'll sit at the intersection of creative vision, client relationships, and operational discipline — and you'll be judged on all three. This is not a role for someone who only sets direction. You'll write, you'll concept, you'll sit in the edit bay, you'll rework a media plan at 6pm, you'll get on the phone with a client who's unhappy. If your last ten years have been spent approving other people's work, this isn't the fit. What You'll Own The creative product. Every piece of work that leaves the building — broadcast, digital, print, web, branded content, direct response. You set the bar and you defend it. The team. Account representatives, video production, post-production, design, web and tech development. You'll lead, mentor, staff, and hold people accountable. That means real feedback, real development, and real conversations when standards slip. The accounts. You're the senior creative voice in front of clients. You'll pitch new business, deepen existing relationships, translate business problems into creative strategy, and be the person clients call when it matters. Delivery. Timelines, resourcing, capacity, and budgets across a concurrent slate of projects. Nothing slides quietly. You'll know where every job stands and what it's costing. Media. Working with our media team on planning and buying — negotiating placements, evaluating performance, and making sure the creative and the buy are built for each other rather than handed off between silos. What We're Looking For Required 8+ years in agency or in-house creative leadership, with at least 3 leading multidisciplinary teams (creative and accounts, not creative alone) A portfolio that proves range — brand, broadcast, digital, and direct response — and results, not just aesthetics Hands-on craft in at least two of: copywriting, art direction, video/film production, editorial and post, or web/UX Demonstrated P&L, budget, or scope ownership across a book of accounts Client-facing presence: you can present, defend, and sell work to senior stakeholders and win the room Fluent, practical use of AI tools in creative and production workflows — ideation, pre-viz, editing, copy iteration, research, project ops — with judgment about where it belongs and where it doesn't Genuine command of media planning and buying fundamentals Strong assets Direct experience buying and working with network and cable television Government contract experience — federal, state, or municipal — including RFP response, compliance, and reporting requirements Nonprofit, fundraising, or mission-driven communications background Experience in a production-heavy environment with in-house studio, crew, and post capabilities How You Work You move fast, you move from idea to execution quickly. This agency runs on relationships — with clients, with crews, with each other. We're not looking for someone who automates their way out of the room. We want the person who uses the tools to buy back the hours, then spends those hours on the phone, in the edit, at the shoot, and in front of the client. You are a solutions oriented person that sees challenges as opportunities instead of barriers. First Year Success By 30 days — You know every account, every client relationship, every person on the team, and where the pressure points are. By 90 days — You've taken ownership of the creative review process, addressed the delivery or resourcing gaps you found, and led at least one pitch or major campaign end to end. By six months — Work quality is visibly up, projects land on schedule and on budget as a matter of course, the team is clear on the standard, and clients are asking for you by name. By twelve months — You've grown existing accounts, contributed materially to new business, and built a creative department that can scale. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus structure, retirement plan and PTO. Why Apply? You are a winner, a leader and need an organization that will give you both the structure and autonomy to get the most out of your talents.
