Job Description

Creative Operations Director
  • Job Description Role Overview The Creative Operations Director is responsible for the implementation and fulfillment of the vision, strategy, and execution of the Worship and Production Department of The Fellowship Church.
This role exists to create cohesive, well produced, discerningly pastored and engaging experiences where people can encounter Jesus and clearly understand the message of the Gospel. This person oversees creative content, weekend worship experiences, staffing and production execution—ensuring alignment across all platforms and ministries. They lead teams, develop leaders, and collaborate with pastors and staff to bring vision to life with awareness and intentionality. This role is generally not responsible for creating the direction for the Creative Department, but for receiving it from the Lead Pastor and Worship Pastor and being an independent carrier of said direction. Key ResponsibilitiesCreative Vision & Strategy Own and steward the overall creative vision of the church Ensure all creative, worship, and production elements align with the church's mission, values, and voice Collaborate in concept development for sermon series, events, and initiatives Champion brand consistency across all ministries and platforms Worship Leadership Oversee the worship ministry, including culture, health, and development of team members Collaborate with pastors and worship leaders to plan and execute engaging, Spirit-led services Provide direction for song selection, flow, and service elements in alignment with teaching Develop and mentor worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, creative staff and production volunteers SOMAW Oversee budgets, marketing, subsidies and staff for School Of Music And Worship Serves as a Co-Director for SOMAW Assists in constructing the schedule for times and locations for instructors Production Oversight Lead all production environments (audio, lighting, video, livestream, etc.) Ensure high-quality, distraction-free execution for weekend services and events Build and develop volunteer production teams Oversee systems, equipment, and technical excellence Content & Creative Execution Oversee the creation of graphics, video, social media, and digital content Direct storytelling through visual and digital platforms Ensure all deliverables are on-brand, timely, and aligned with ministry goals Manage creative workflows from concept to completion Team Leadership & Development Recruit, train, and lead staff and volunteer teams across creative, worship, and production Build clear systems that support healthy team growth and sustainability Provide coaching, feedback, and leadership development Foster a collaborative, humble, and Christ-centered culture Collaboration Partner with pastors and ministry leaders to execute vision effectively Translate ministry goals into creative, worship, and production strategies Participate in planning meetings and contribute creative direction The Fellowship Collective Operate as a shared visionary and lead for TFC's original music Aids in vision creation and implementation for original content Is chief steward of copyright, songwriter agreements and distribution Digital & Communications Oversee social media strategy and digital engagement Ensure website and communication channels are clear, current, and effective Evaluate engagement and adjust strategies for greater reach and impact Qualifications A growing and active relationship with Jesus Christ Alignment with the vision, mission, and beliefs of the church 5+ years of leadership experience in worship, production, creative, or related fields Proven ability to lead teams in both creative and technical environments Strong understanding of worship culture and church production systems Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple projects and ministries simultaneously Proficiency in Google Workspace, Planning Center Online, Slack, Logic X and Wrike Preferred Skills Experience in a multi-ministry or multi-campus church setting Proficiency in design, video, or creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) Audio/visual production knowledge (mixing, lighting, livestream) Songwriting, arranging, or musical direction experience Experience developing volunteer-driven ministries Characteristics Self-starter, detail oriented, inquisitive, pastoral, finisher, a leader that can follow, perceptive, perceptive, diligent, discerning. Possesses all of the required qualifications of an overseer detailed in 1 Timothy 3 Expectations Sunday availability required Weekday office hours 9:00am-5:00pm M-W; 1:00pm-9:00pm Th; 7:00a-1:00p Su Evenings required for rehearsals, services, and events Upline Reports to: Executive Pastor of Creative Summary of Success This role is central to how people experience the church. By aligning worship, production, and creativity, the Creative Director will know goals have been met when excellence has been demonstrably elevated, and pathways to what God is doing at The Fellowship are clear and accessible.
