Job Description

Director of Creative Services We're looking for a Director of Creative Services to lead the people, staffing, and client relationships behind Parallel's creative work. As a member of Parallel's leadership team, you'll report directly to the CEO and sit alongside our Director of Client Services and Director of Creative, owning the business and people side of creative delivery while they own client strategy and creative vision, respectively. This role sits alongside our Director of Client Services in client conversations, translates client needs into a staffing plan, and owns delivery accountability, and department profitability, for every creative project from kickoff through completion. Just as importantly, this role is the primary people manager for our creative team, helping every individual contributor do their best work through coaching, accountability, and genuine care for their growth. You'll manage all of our creative service departments (design & art direction, production, videography & photography, and content & copywriting), including hiring, performance, and career growth for that team. You'll partner closely with our Director of Creative, who owns creative vision and quality, while you own the people, process, and business side of getting that vision delivered: translating direction into day-to-day team leadership, and making sure people have the clarity, coaching, and support they need to succeed. What You'll Do Client & Delivery Represent creative services in client meetings, consulting on scope and feasibility in real time Translate client needs into a staffing and delivery plan, including whether freelance support is needed Staff projects with the right internal team members and/or freelancers Own delivery accountability for creative projects from kickoff through completion Own creative services department profitability, including staffing decisions that balance quality, speed, and margin Manage the Project Delivery Manager, who supports day-to-day execution tracking Leadership & Decision-Making Serve as a member of Parallel's leadership team, partnering with the Director of Client Services and Director of Creative on agency-wide priorities Where creative quality and delivery timeline are in tension, work with the Director of Creative to find a path forward; escalate unresolved disagreements to the CEO People & Team Leadership Manage all creative service department staff: hiring, onboarding, development, performance, and retention Conduct performance reviews, compensation conversations, and promotion decisions for creative staff Own team health and sustainability: workload, engagement, culture, and morale Build trust and facilitate difficult conversations; resolve conflict and strengthen collaboration across disciplines Set clear goals and performance expectations; hold the team accountable to them Support succession planning, talent reviews, and professional development/mentorship What We're Looking For 10+ years of experience in project/account management, creative operations, and/or creative leadership Demonstrated experience managing creative or production teams, with a genuine strength in people leadership (not just workflow management) Experience scoping client engagements and translating needs into staffing plans Strong communication and client-facing presentation skills Comfort making staffing decisions under time pressure Understanding of how creative teams operate and what creative professionals need to thrive (deep expertise in every discipline not required) Nice to Have Experience managing multiple creative disciplines under one team Familiarity with San Antonio's business landscape and client base Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
