About the PWHL The Professional Women's Hockey League delivers world-class competition and fosters meaningful connections with fans and communities through operational excellence, purposeful partnerships, and a focus on long-term sustainability. We are dedicated to cultivating a league culture rooted in integrity, innovation, and inclusion on and off the ice. Position Summary The Public Address Announcer provides game day announcing services, including scripted reads and live announcements, helping inform fans and create an energetic and engaging atmosphere throughout PWHL San Jose home games. Services Deliver all in game PA announcements, including promotional reads, scoring updates, fan information, sponsor messaging and crowd prompts. Deliver announcements in coordination with game presentation scripts and cues while adapting to the flow of the game. Engage and inform fans through a clear, energetic and professional delivery. Collaborate with the Game Presentation and Production teams throughout the event. Maintain a strong understanding of game timing, announcements and required cues. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Strong, confident voice with professional cadence and delivery. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced live environment. Strong communication, organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to provide services at all 13 PWHL San Jose home games. Professional, reliable and collaborative. Candidate must be able to deliver services on-site. This engagement is based in the United States. Applicants must be legally entitled to provide services as an independent contractor in the United States. The PWHL does not sponsor visas or work authorization for this engagement. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a PA Announcer at live sporting events, preferably 2 or more years. Knowledge of and passion for the PWHL and hockey. Flexibility to provide services on evenings and weekends as required. Independent Contractor Engagement This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. The contractor is not eligible for PWHL employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan participation, paid time off, or workers' compensation coverage. The PWHL will not withhold income tax, CPP/EI (Canada), or Social Security/Medicare (U.S.) from contractor payments.
