Compensation:
$25,000 annual compensation; paid monthly
Type of Position:
1099 Contractor to the Northern Lights Little League; a separate 1099 independent contractor agreement will be provided upon selection.
Dates of Position:
October 2026- September 2027; monthly hours vary on workload
Position Responsibilities:
Pre-Season Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of registration for Baseball (spring and fall seasons) and Softball, including system set up, launch, regular review of registration levels, regular emails to league families on registration dates, and other administrative tasks related to registration. Receive and address all questions from families regarding registration, schedules, and season logistics. Regular review of emails is expected and a maximum 48 hour email response expectation to all emails. Assist League President and Board in performing all required administrative tasks for player assessments. With approval from the League President and Board, assign Team Managers and Assistant Coaches (inclusive of ensuring all background checks are completed/approved and required training is completed for all Managers and Coaches. Assign teams based on player assessments and other league guidelines for each division. Using Little League's online tools, conduct high-level review of addresses to ensure players are within league boundaries. Facilitate the ordering of uniforms after teams have been formed. In conjunction with the Board and its approval, order player equipment as required and assist in the creation of an equipment bag, rule book, pitch count guidelines (as applicable) for each team. After Board approval, order special supplies of field equipment such as field prep equipment, pitcher mounds, and other items. Facilitate the Team Manager/Coach required pre-season meetings and create all required material to distribute to the Team Managers/Coaches.
Develop all required baseball schedules:
Create and communicate all practice schedules. With the president, coordinate scheduling with the District and/or other leagues. Create and communicate all game schedules. Create Gamechanger accounts for the league and for all teams in all divisions and load all key dates in for each team. Coordinate Softball schedule integration with the Softball VP. Coordinate Challenger program schedule integration with the Challenger VP. Communicate all practice and game schedules on Northern Lights Fields to the City of Thornton.
In Season Responsibilities:
Act as the front-line for all questions/concerns. Emailed response expected within 48 hours (response may not be a resolution; a response may be an escalation to the Board or summary of progress made thus far on a larger issue). Field questions and complaints from families, Team Managers, Coaches, or others and work to address issues following the documented Conflict Resolution Process.
At a highlevel:
Address those that can be addressed by yourself. For more complicated issues (including player changes), work with the appropriate Vice President to address the issue jointly. Escalate to the President or UIC as required. Manage all aspects of game cancellations: Notify Concession Stand Manager, league teams, league families, other leagues, Umpire in Chief, and field chalkers of field closures. Reschedule all required games and effectively communicate these changes out to teams and other leagues. Ensure fields are properly prepped and ready to play for all games: Work with the City on schedules and ensuring fields are properly dragged. Order chalk, paint, field supplies, and equipment as required, directed, and approved by the Board. Ensure all fields are game ready at least 15 minutes before scheduled game time. This may include, chalking fields, scheduling chalkers, operating the automated field lining machine, or coordinating someone to operate the automated field lining machine. Coordinate a General Manager/ Board Member schedule. At minimum, 1 Board Member or the GM is to be onsite every game day to address issues that arise during games at the field. The expectation is for the GM to cover at least 4 days per week and ensure full coverage on game days. Coordinate picture day (inclusive of photographer, communication email, and day of facilitation). Enforce all policies and procedures from the Board.
All Star Responsibilities:
Facilitate all required communication to families around process, costs, dates, etc. Gather and prepare needed supplies for All-Star tryouts. Assist the All Star Selection Committee in conducting the All-Star tryouts. Assist the All Star Selection Committee to help lead completing all required All Star paperwork for the District. Work with the District and President to assist in ensuring appropriate pitch counters and scorekeepers exist for All Star tournament games held at our complex. Work with the District and President to assist in ensuring the Northern Lights facility is setup for All Star tournaments hosted by NLLL.
Meeting Responsibilities:
Attend monthly Board meetings to report on the status of the league. At the request of the President, attend certain District 2 President's meetings.
