In this vibrant role, you will be the life of the party, engaging with diverse audiences through lively hosting, expert music selection, and seamless audio-visual management. Your enthusiasm and technical skills will set the tone for exciting events, dance parties, and social gatherings that keep guests entertained and coming back for more. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to combine your love for music, public speaking, and customer service in an exhilarating maritime environment. Responsibilities Host onboard events with engaging presentation skills, encouraging guest participation and interaction to foster a lively atmosphere. Curate and mix music playlists tailored to different audiences and event themes using professional DJ equipment. Operate and troubleshoot event audio systems to ensure high-quality sound and visual effects during performances. Coordinate with event staff to plan entertainment schedules and adapt to changing crowd dynamics. Interact with guests through public speaking, crowd interaction, and personalized communication to enhance their onboard experience. Manage technical aspects of event audio-visual equipment, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting during live events. Experience Previous experience as a Disc Jockey or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Being able to play an instrument and/or sing would be a positive but is not mandatory. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Experience in public speaking is beneficial for engaging guests during events. Having social media content creation skills will be beneficial to help capture and put together new content for our website and social media channels. Knowledge of music trends and the ability to adapt to a wide range of audiences effectively will enhance your success in this role. It is important to note that this is a consistent job. We are in need of someone to be available for 5-8 cruises per week, all year long. We are also open to part time applicants. Your shifts will take place mostly in the evening, usually lasting from 3-5 hours. We have a house sound system, but the applicant will need to provide their own music source and a way to mix/play it.
