Job Description

The Rockford Rivets are looking for a qualified individual to join us as a Broadcast/Color Commentator Intern for the 2026 season. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the fan experience by commentating on every home game live streamed from Rivets Stadium. Additionally, you'll assist in the setup, maintenance, and post-game cleanup of broadcasting equipment and support other outside events. This exciting summer internship program runs from mid-May to late August, requiring interns to be available for all home games (36) and any additional assigned events throughout the season. Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Media, Broadcast interns will have various responsibilities, including:
Responsibilities:
Create game notes for talking points during the livestream. Assist in the daily setup and teardown of cameras and webcast equipment. Operate and maintain equipment, including audio/sound equipment. Effectively communicate with other webcast interns using proper video production terminology. Collaborate within a crew to produce a high-quality live webcast. Send highlights and interviews to local media outlets on a nightly basis. Share highlights with the social media team for nightly posting on various social media platforms. Working closely with Director of Marketing for video needs Providing analysis within the broadcast of each home game Host and produce a weekly podcast hosting players, coaches, and members of front office about different events happening at
Rivets Stadium Required Skills:
Possess expert knowledge of baseball Enrollment in a Mass Communications, Radio, TV, or related major. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Availability for training with the video production manager on select dates (league-level training will also be provided). Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks. Self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and great attention to detail. Decisiveness and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations. Strong multitasking abilities. Excellent communication skills. Physical capability to lift up to 20 lbs., bend, reach, and stand/move for extended periods. Prior podcasting experience or a willingness to learn is preferred
