Job Description

Position Overview The Rockford Rivets are seeking a qualified individual to join the team as a Culinary Intern for the upcoming season. This position is an internship providing hands-on experience in collegiate sports. The culinary intern will work closely with the concessions teams and should be available for all home games, along with any additional events assigned throughout the season. The culinary interns will report directly to the Director of Food and Beverage. This summer internship program runs from mid-May to late August. All interns are required to be available for each home game (36), along with any additional events assigned throughout the season.

This internship is unpaid, and candidates must be actively enrolled in a college or university program that allows them to receive academic credit for the internship.
Responsibilities Include:
Cooking, prepping, and following recipes. Responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of running a food service-related operation. Performs tasks related to ensuring compliance with safe food prep and handling, storage and sanitation. Provide direct "hands-on" cooking or prep work to deliver quality and prompt service. Overseeing all concession stands to ensure proper operation. Assist in working with vendors, ordering food products and beverages. Maintain accurate inventory. Help manage concessions staff, including training, delegating responsibilities and developing a fun and productive atmosphere. Operational duties such as cleaning and organizing. Ensuring an exceptional fan experience through great customer service. Responsibilities will also include assisting other departments when requested or needed. Must be able to lift 30+ pounds
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must be a current college student (undergraduate or graduate) Will be required to work office/stadium hours on non-game days. All other duties as assigned. Have an enthusiastic, positive attitude and provide a strong effort to succeed Must be a creative thinker and do well in a fast-paced environment Ability to problem solve Strong time management and attention to details Familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills Cooperation, responsiveness, dependability, and proper attitude in dealing with others including co-workers and customers What You'll Gain Real-world experience with a professional sports organization.
