Event DJ/Sound Technician City of Goddard, Kansas Goddard, KS Job Details Seasonal | Contract $500 a day 3 days ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience Technical support experience Live event audio projects Full Job Description Position Overview The City of Goddard is seeking a sound technician as an independent contractor to provide audio support and festive music during the Christmas on Main Street event. This role helps create the event atmosphere, support announcements, and ensure clear audio throughout Main Street. Event Covered
  • Christmas on Main Street

  • 4:00PM
  • 7:00PM Sound services are not required for Story Time with Santa. Responsibilities
  • Provide and operate a sound system with speakers distributed along Main Street.
  • Play appropriate music to help create a festive atmosphere throughout the event.
  • Provide microphones and audio support for: o Event announcements o Sponsor acknowledgments o Countdown moments o Parade announcements
  • Conduct a full sound check prior to event start.
  • Provide backup equipment and supplies in case of technical issues.
  • Ensure music is playing during vendor setup to help build early event energy.
  • Attend a pre-event walkthrough meeting with Santa, the photographer, and event staff. Arrival Time The sound technician should plan to arrive around 2:00 PM to set up equipment prior to vendor setup and event opening. Qualifications
  • Experience providing sound services for community events preferred.
  • Ability to manage sound for outdoor events.
  • Experience working with family-friendly or community environments is preferred. Requirements

  • Completion of W-9 form
  • Participation in event walkthrough
  • Signed independent contractor agreement Conduct Expectations The sound technician must:
  • Represent the City of Goddard professionally.
  • Maintain an inclusive and welcoming demeanor.
  • Avoid political commentary during the event.
  • Follow all applicable public conduct and social media guidelines.
Supervision The Community Engagement Director or designated event coordinator will serve as the City's primary point of contact for event coordination and logistics. Compensation Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Payment will be issued upon satisfactory completion of the event.
