MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate strong interpretive skills and utilize various interpretive techniques through programming. Facilitate proper guest interactions with ambassador animals housed in our interactive tanks. Conduct programs following a set outline. Must be comfortable presenting information to large groups of guests in both formal and informal settings, with the use of a microphone. Enthusiastically share facts and conservation messaging with guests in inspiring and meaningful ways. Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as disciplined and reliable. Perform and adhere to, Herschend Enterprises' Core Values and Newport Aquarium Operations Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient guest services operations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Leadership Team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have strong public speaking skills. Must possess a fun, dynamic, and friendly personality. Must read, write, and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages a plus). Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends, holidays, and evenings. Knowledge of marine life a plus.
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of pre-employment background check. No history of allergy related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds
