Full Job Description Description:
Job Type Part-Time, Non-Exempt Reports to : Marketing Director Ambassadors support the Marketing Team with event services, public greeting, customer service and merchandise sales. Ambassadors ensure every visitor to Discovery Green leaves feeling like they've discovered something new and special about Houston.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Treat every visitor with a friendly disposition and an eagerness to help Know and embody the Discovery Green mission Assist visitors with information about the park and directions Sell Discovery Green merchandise and ask for donations Assist with programming events when assigned, as customer service representatives.
This may include:
Setting out chairs Passing out flyers Directing the flow of traffic Leading crafts or activities as needed Other duties as assigned; all Conservancy employees work together as a team and frequently assist each other in every department when needed Enforce Park rules in the fountain and playground areas
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Must have at least a High school/GED degree preferred. Must be able to work within a strong team environment, following directions and completing assigned tasks. Must be able to remain calm and courteous when speaking with the public Preferred applicant: Friendly, conscientious and hardworking Eager to learn about the promotion, planning and execution of public events Knowledgeable about Discovery Green, it's mission, goals and programming Loves art, nature, music, play, fun and most importantly HOUSTON! Hours are flexible. Retirees, college students and those needing flexibility in their schedule invited to apply.
