Role Description The UAS Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in National Capital Region, responsible for planning, executing, and documenting unmanned aircraft system missions in support of client operations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting pre-flight checks, coordinating flight plans, operating UAS platforms in accordance with regulations and company procedures, and monitoring aircraft performance and safety during missions. The UAS Operator will collect, manage, and report imagery and data, maintain equipment readiness, and assist with troubleshooting and minor maintenance of UAS hardware and related systems. This role collaborates with project managers, technical teams, and field personnel to ensure mission objectives are met, and participates in ongoing training to stay current with evolving UAS technologies, airspace rules, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in UAS operation and flight planning, with experience conducting pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures safely and efficiently. Strong understanding of aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAA rules and airspace classifications), with the ability to apply them to UAS operations. Ability to interpret and manage geospatial information, including maps, coordinates, and flight paths, and to collect and document mission data accurately. Technical aptitude for UAS platforms, sensors, and related equipment, including basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and system configuration. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow operational protocols, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide clear mission reports. Attention to detail, strong situational awareness, and commitment to safety in all field operations, including risk assessment and mitigation. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or relevant certifications are preferred. Ability to work on-site in the National Capital Region, and to support field operations that may require variable hours and outdoor work conditions. U.S. Citizen Top Secret Clearance required FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate Travel approximately 30%

$160,000 - $180,000 per year (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
