HELP WANTED

On-Site EditorDeep South Media Group is seeking an experienced, community-minded editor to lead news and sports coverage for five weekly newspapers in southwest Alabama.

This full-time, on-site position is based in Grove Hill, Alabama and is ideal for an energetic journalist with strong leadership, organizational and writing skills.

Responsibilities include:

Managing local news and sports coverage Assigning, editing and writing stories Working with reporters, photographers and freelance contributors Planning weekly editorial content Meeting print and digital deadlines Building relationships within the communities we serve

Qualifications:

Previous newspaper editing experience required Excellent writing, editing and AP Style skills Strong news judgment and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deadlines and publications Photography, page design and digital publishing experience are a plus If you have a passion for local journalism and want to make a difference in the communities you serve, we'd like to hear from you.
