An Editor reviews stories, reports or manuscripts, makes corrections, and works with writers to improve content and structure of writing. Plans and coordinates material to be included in publications. Works with print material or website content. May specialize in copy editing (careful review of text for errors) or other types of editing; may work as an executive editor with authority to approve publications and contracts.
The positions are based from our Burbank, California office and require extensive travel throughout the United States. Our productions are filmed primarily in wilderness, remote, and rugged outdoor environments. Extensive travel and field production are essential requirements of these positions. Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of their position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Frequent and extended travel for location shoots
Hiking over uneven, steep, and rugged terrain
Working at high elevations
Working for extended periods outdoors in remote wilderness locations
Working in changing weather and environmental conditions
Walking and standing for extended periods
Working long production days and irregular schedules
Traveling to locations with limited vehicle access, facilities, or infrastructure
Remaining on remote locations for extended production assignments
Performing the physical duties associated with their specific production position
Working in tight spaces Certain positions may also require carrying, setting up, operating, and transporting camera, sound, data, and other professional production equipment. Applicants must be willing and able to travel extensively and work under the field conditions inherent in wilderness documentary production.
COMPENSATION
These are full-time salaried staff positions. The applicable annual salary range for each position will be included in the individual position posting and will reflect the responsibilities, experience requirements, and qualifications of that position.
