Editors/Editorial Services The Indiana Legislative Services Agency is seeking candidates for full-time temporary employment with the potential for progression to full-time employment in editorial services in the Office of Code Revision. The Office is responsible for editing documents for the Indiana State Legislature and preparing and publishing internet and bound versions of the Indiana Code. The editorial assistants work with editors and attorneys in a physical office in the Indiana Government Center (Indianapolis). Remote work is not available. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Professional experience in proofreading and editing is beneficial. Onsite training will be provided for selected candidates. Editorial Assistants are responsible for proofreading, editing, and publishing legislative documents. Other duties may include word processing, copying, and delivery of documents. Editorial Support Assistants are responsible for word processing, initial document review and organization, and typing editorial corrections for legislative documents. Other duties may include filing, copying, and monitoring correspondence. Print Administration Assistants are responsible for electronic document storage and manipulation, word processing, and copying and delivery of document packets. All positions require 37.5+ hours per week, including regularly scheduled evenings and weekends. Full-time temporary positions may accrue overtime pay consistent with Agency guidelines.
Applicants must:
(1) have excellent word processing, proofreading, grammatical, and problem-solving skills; (2) have proficiency in using onscreen editing, data manipulation, and documentation; (3) be comfortable handling time-sensitive and confidential documents; and (4) be able to commit to work through May 2027.
