Job Description

The Creative Company, a local children's book publisher, seeks a detail-oriented administrative assistant to support our book development team. This position will manage contracts and invoices for freelancers and photo vendors, record photo usage information, maintain and update book schedules, help with metadata, and complete other project management tasks as assigned to help track the many details required to publish 400+ books per year. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone wanting to break into the field of publishing.
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word)
  • Familiarity with MacOS operating environment, plus Google Drive and Google Sheets
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good business math skills related to tracking costs and budgets
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience with using AI tools in a business setting and/or willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in business administration, finance, or related field
  • Experience with Asana project management software
