Full-time, Monday•Friday; additional hours above and beyond 40 does occur based on the needs of the role. Responsibilities/Duties of the Job An experienced reporter/writer who can produce well-researched, engaging copy on tight deadlines. The Managing Editor is part of a two-person editorial team.

Duties include:

Covering assigned news beats Producing stories for weekly email newsletters and monthly print publication / digital edition Contributing to social media accounts Conducting phone and video interviews Occasional webcast and podcast hosting Posting stories, web updates, and videos to website Managing a revolving group of industry guest writers Leading layout of the publication Managing story budget

Position Qualifications:

Skills and competencies: The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience writing and reporting in a daily news setting. You should have a flair for writing and the desire to get the news first; demonstrated leadership qualities; a strong work ethic; excellent copy-editing skills; and InDesign experience. Business writing expertise and an understanding of the HME market are a plus.

Education:

A bachelor's degree in journalism, English or a closely related field is required.
