Position Overview We are seeking an Editor/Researcher to provide editorial and research support across National Guard Bureau (NGB) executive correspondence, publications, and archival materials. This role ensures products meet executive-level readability and DoD correspondence style standards prior to leadership review. The ideal candidate brings strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills along with the ability to manage multiple documents through a revision cycle under tight deadlines. This position is contingent upon contract award. Responsibilities Edit, write, proofread, research, index, and fact-check NGB plans, policies, instructions, memoranda, and guidelines prior to publication. Review NGB products for grammar, spelling, format, and style; ensure correspondence for the Chief and Vice Chief of NGB, ANG, and ARNG is executive-level ready. Provide editorial advice and recommendations to NGB Action Officers, Staff Officers, and Workflow Managers. Manage assigned staffing products through editorial review, ensuring on-time completion within one revision cycle. Support publishing, editing, and library/archival media services for staff action and correspondence products. Assist and instruct editorial classes during the Action Officer Training Course. Requirements 5+ years of experience in professional editing, proofreading, research, and document quality control. Demonstrated experience preparing executive correspondence, publications, or archival materials for senior leadership review. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (English, Journalism, or Communications) (preferred). DoD or military correspondence editing experience a plus. Must have active SECRET clearance.
